I find taking part in this workshop a very valuable experience. The "check in" (accountability piece) helps me to make my art a priority. The encouragement along with the sharing of ideas, materials and process that occurs is invaluable. I enjoy the references to the moon phases and using the connection of the moon as a guide in decision making and planning my work schedule. It is always interesting to be exposed to other artists that Tilly mentions. (that I may/ may not be familiar with) Tilly has a great way of looking at art and knowing just the right words of encouragement to use to help me grow and feel confident.

I appreciate her persistence to work with each of us. Her encouragement and constructive criticism allowed me to grow as an artist and appreciate the beauty in all my work. She always believed in me and pushed me to do better. I couldn’t have gotten into Columbia without her.

Tilly’s Accountability Course has actually been life changing for me. I put my artistic inclinations on hold for 35 years. This course helped me fulfill a promise that I made to myself to create artwork again. The definition of accountability is a great starting point for creating a goal to create. The way that Tilly checks in, encourages, and supports her students is gentle and kind, without judgment. The Zoom class is a safe place to feel supported as one grows as an artist. For me it has truly been life changing. I am learning, and painting again, almost daily. I feel supported in my personal journey while remaining accountable to myself.
